Job Requirements

  • Experience in culinary arts or kitchen management
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to prepare therapeutic and modified diets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successful completion of a food safety course
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Leadership and supervisory skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a chef or kitchen manager in a senior living community is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with staff and external constituents
  • Able to prepare therapeutic and modified diets
  • Successful completion of a recognized food safety course

Job Duties

  • Prepare delicious food that meets a variety of dietary needs
  • Conduct regular quality assurance audits to ensure food is well prepared and the kitchen is neat and organized
  • Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling ensuring compliance with King County and DSHS regulations
  • Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors
  • Hire, orient, train, and evaluate kitchen staff
  • Assist with supervising utility and front-of-house staff as needed
  • Create a motivating environment that encourages team members to be involved, creative, and problem-solving
  • Act as Executive Chef in their absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
