- Experience in food preparation
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Good knife skills
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Physical ability to stand for long periods

Job Duties
- Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menu
- Read food orders and receive verbal instructions on food required by patrons
- Prepare and cook food according to instructions
- Follow basic recipes and product directions for seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients under supervision
- Wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Trim and cut meat, poultry or fish for culinary use
