- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work part-time during day shifts
- Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- Willingness to follow food safety protocols
- Basic cooking skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation preferred
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu
- Read food orders or receive verbal instructions on food required and prepare and cook according to instructions
- Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients under supervision
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables
- Trim and cut meat, poultry or fish for culinary use
