Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • ability to follow instructions and recipes
  • knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience as a cook or in a similar food preparation role preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • strong attention to detail
  • good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • excellent teamwork and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu
  • read food orders or receive verbal instructions on food required by patrons and prepare and cook food according to instructions
  • follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
  • prepare food under direct supervision or instruction by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use
