Michigan Housing is an integral unit of Student Life Auxiliary Services within the Division of Student Life at the University of Michigan. Serving approximately 11,500 students, including 9,100 undergraduate and 2,400 graduate and professional students along with their families, Michigan Housing provides a comprehensive residential experience that supports the academic mission and enriches student life. The residential portfolio consists of 19 facilities, including traditional residence halls, apartments, and diverse living options across the Ann Arbor campus, along with plans for expansion. Job Requirements
- Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel, educational administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum of one year supervisory experience in student environment
- minimum one year post-graduate experience in administration of living-learning or theme programs
- minimum one year event planning and coordination experience
- legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

- minimum one year of supervisory experience in a student environment
- one year post-graduate experience administering living-learning or theme programs
- experience in event planning and coordination

- skill in developing inclusive and culturally sensitive relationships
- experience in student conduct and crisis response
- leadership abilities in organizational vision and strategy
- experience with assessment management
- familiarity with technology platforms used in student housing programs
Job Duties
- Supervise thematic student staff and student leaders
- serve as primary supervisor for Theme Resident Assistants in collaboration with Hall Directors
- hold monthly meetings with Theme RAs, partners, and Hall Directors
- create and maintain Theme guidebooks to preserve community histories
- develop and facilitate annual Theme RA training
- coordinate student staff training ensuring preparation for Theme Community roles
- develop training outcomes and assess effectiveness
- integrate technology in training delivery
- coordinate training sessions for all academic terms
- provide ongoing professional development for staff
- collaborate with campus partners for community engagement opportunities
- support student staff selection process
- support recruitment, marketing, and selection of student staff
- plan and execute Theme Community events
- participate in university-wide admissions events
- develop multi-media recruitment strategies
- maintain and update Theme Communities website
- create marketing materials
- manage application processes and data for Theme Communities
- ensure user-friendly application experiences
- review applications and make decisions using rubrics
- maintain communication with applicants and stakeholders
- manage Theme Communities assessment
- collaborate on learning outcomes and evaluation methods
- support data communication and analysis
- produce end-of-year program reviews
- oversee budget and financial responsibilities
