Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of professional theatrical production experience
- experience working in backstage operations across multiple departments
- proficiency with theatrical production standards and safety protocols
- strong communication skills
- ability to manage emergency situations calmly
- ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
Job Qualifications
- Experience in backstage operations in multiple departments
- detail-oriented, punctual, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
- comfortable in a position of authority in emergency situations
- 2 years of professional theatrical production experience in the arts and entertainment industry
- understanding and proficiency of current theatrical production standards and safe execution
- ability to work with various performing arts genres including theater, music, dance, film, mixed media, and presentations
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse programming
- collaborative work ethic
- excellent oral, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills
- ability to work inclusively with diverse constituencies in an academic setting
- previous experience working in a college/university environment with students preferred
- calm, approachable, proactive, and self-motivated
Job Duties
- Prepare and restore the venue for events
- operate and supervise the safe and efficient use of the facility and its specialized theatrical equipment
- provide lighting or sound design support and general production advice for events depending on qualifications and needs
- perform and oversee limited set construction, painting, rigging, and other theatrical craft activities
- organize, manage, work with, and train students with diverse backgrounds in a hands-on learning environment
- maintain Babson College and Sorenson Center for the Arts policies and procedures
- respond timely to scheduling outreach
