Job Requirements

  • Previous porter service, hotel or customer service experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to read and respond in English
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiastic, service-oriented, with a passion for hospitality and Alaska’s vibrant culture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook and familiarity with web-based tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid work authorization for the USA
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasionally lift light materials
  • Availability to work shifts on weekends, holidays, and nights

Job Qualifications

  • Previous porter service, hotel, or customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to read and respond in English
  • Enthusiastic, service-oriented attitude with passion for hospitality and Alaska’s culture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with web-based tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests while ensuring all luggage is accurately loaded/unloaded and delivered to the client's car/room
  • Assist guests with luggage service
  • Share in-depth knowledge of the hotel, its amenities, room layouts, and the surrounding Anchorage area, including notable events and activities
  • Handle guest requests for luggage and delivery services, resolving issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
  • Maintain the hotel entrance, lobby, valet point, and parking area as organized and guest-friendly hubs
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet guest needs and special accommodations
  • Communicate daily with the Front Office Manager to review guest services, priorities, and special projects
  • Contribute to a warm, inviting atmosphere by managing the lobby’s communal space featuring a fireplace and local art
