Job Requirements

  • prior experience in bartending or related hospitality role
  • legal age to serve alcohol

Job Duties

  • Promote work and act in a manner consistent with The Wildbirch Hotel's mission
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes
  • accept guest payment process credit card charges and make change
  • check guest identification to verify age for alcohol purchase
  • present drink menus make recommendations and answer beverage-related questions
  • mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • serve snacks or food items to bar guests
  • record drink orders accurately in the register system
  • balance cash receipts
  • recognize and learn regular guests names
  • limit problems related to excessive drinking by persuading guests to stop drinking or arranging transportation
  • clean and sterilize glasses utensils and bar equipment
  • stock bar with beer wine liquor and related supplies
  • clean and reset bars work areas and tables
  • slice and pit fruit prepare garnishes for drinks
  • arrange and maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally
  • maintain cleanliness in all bar areas
  • report equipment problems to restaurant manager
  • attend scheduled employee meetings and offer improvement suggestions
  • coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guest needs
  • fill in for fellow employees to ensure service standards and efficient operations
  • plan organize and control cocktail lounge or bar operations
  • order or requisition liquors and supplies
  • supervise bar staff and other bartenders
  • plan bar menus create drink recipes
  • prepare appetizers such as pickles cheese and cold meats
  • provide guests with information about local areas including directions
