Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • good communication skills
  • physical stamina to stand for long periods
  • ability to handle fast-paced environment
  • ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • Serve Safe certification
  • valid TIPs certification

Job Qualifications

  • Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business
  • a minimum of relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred
  • ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure
  • proven ability to engage guests at all levels and provide warm, engaging, and personalized service
  • ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English with guests, management, and co-workers
  • ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • computer literacy including Payroll systems, Micros, POS systems
  • Serve Safe certified
  • unexpired TIPs required

Job Duties

  • Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards
  • ensure compliance with all hotel standards and local laws
  • ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards
  • prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections
  • have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
  • perform all banquet side work as assigned including cleaning of bar and beverage equipment, portable bars, back bars, walls, and carpets
  • ensure positive guest service and respond to complaints, taking appropriate actions to retain guests
  • assist in controlling food and beverage quantities by avoiding over/under preparing
  • assist with set up and break down of banquet bar areas
  • attend all required department trainings and meetings
  • perform any other duties required by leadership
