Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
- strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- good communication skills
- physical stamina to stand for long periods
- ability to handle fast-paced environment
- ability to follow health and safety regulations
- Serve Safe certification
- valid TIPs certification
Job Qualifications
- Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business
- a minimum of relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred
- ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure
- proven ability to engage guests at all levels and provide warm, engaging, and personalized service
- ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English with guests, management, and co-workers
- ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- computer literacy including Payroll systems, Micros, POS systems
- Serve Safe certified
- unexpired TIPs required
Job Duties
- Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards
- ensure compliance with all hotel standards and local laws
- ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards
- prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections
- have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
- perform all banquet side work as assigned including cleaning of bar and beverage equipment, portable bars, back bars, walls, and carpets
- ensure positive guest service and respond to complaints, taking appropriate actions to retain guests
- assist in controlling food and beverage quantities by avoiding over/under preparing
- assist with set up and break down of banquet bar areas
- attend all required department trainings and meetings
- perform any other duties required by leadership
