- currently enrolled in culinary science course is preferred
- ability to work under direct supervision

Job Duties
- Prepares and bakes bread, cakes, pies, pastries, or similar
- mixes and proofs doughs or batters, bakes according to directions or recipes, and decorates if required
- cleans and sanitizes cooking tools or utensils or food preparation areas
- maintains equipment and appliances
- follows appropriate food safety and handling policies
- cleans and sanitizes mixers, bowls, pans, ovens, and other materials used for baking or storage
- regularly monitors color of products being baked and adjusts oven temperatures and settings
- makes certain that bakery products are safely handled and stored in a sanitized manner
- processes specialty orders for customers, including decorating cakes and other bakery items
- checks to ensure baking equipment complies with health and safety regulations
- tracks and records inventory, rotates stock of bakery items, and changes price labels as directed
