Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to kitchen operations
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with front and back of house teams
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
  • Detail oriented with a focus on quality and guest satisfaction
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania state health and safety regulations
  • Experience with inventory management and ordering
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Familiarity with various kitchen stations including hot line and garde manger
  • Ability to train and develop kitchen staff
  • Competency in processing invoices and using inventory control systems

Job Duties

  • Make routine inspections of all equipment and kitchen areas to ensure cleanliness and proper working condition
  • Notify Chef and maintenance department of any defects
  • Ensure proper scheduling of employees based on business volumes and make necessary adjustments
  • Work throughout all kitchen departments as needed
  • Order all food items required for kitchen operations
  • Assist with hiring and training back of house team members
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, dating, and rotation of all BOH products
  • Maintain 100% compliance with State of Pennsylvania health codes in BOH areas
  • Assist daily operation of hot line, garde manger, and all production areas
  • Perform monthly physical inventory and enter data into inventory control system within 24 hours
  • Assist with other food and beverage outlets as needed
  • Process invoices including updating pricing, quantities, and coding
  • Communicate with front of house regarding specials, shortages, and other operational information
