Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a similar cooking position
- Knowledge of state sanitation and health regulations
- Ability to follow strict food safety and storage procedures

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or similar kitchen role
- Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation and health regulations and hotel requirements
- Meet with Head Cook and Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
- Complete opening duties including setting up workstation with required tools, equipment and supplies
- Inspect cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment and supplies
- Check production schedule and pars
- Establish priority items for the day
- Inform the Head Cook of any supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day's tasks
- Transport supplies from the Storeroom and stock in designated areas
- Start prep work on items needed for the menu of the day
- Organize all prep items needed from different areas ensuring all items are in place and ready for service
- Inform the Sous Chef of any shortages before items run out
- Inform food and beverage service staff of 86'd item and amount of available menu specials throughout the meal period
- Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Sous Chef ensuring optimum service to guests
- Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
- Complete closing duties including returning all food items to proper storage, wrapping, covering, labeling and dating items, straightening and organizing all storage areas
- Clean and wipe down food prep areas, reach-ins, walk-ins and shelves
- Return unused and clean utensils/equipment to specified locations
- Turn off all equipment not needed for next shift
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs
- Report unresolved incidents to Manager or Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services, features and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries
- Contribute to team success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- Work as a team member to ensure best possible guest experience
- Understand and apply emergency procedures
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately
- Attend department meetings and training sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
