Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience in culinary management
  • Technical school training or equivalent
  • Ability to type 35 words per minute or more
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods
  • Leadership skills with clear communication

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a culinary management position
  • Two years of technical school training or equivalent
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and oral
  • Leadership skills with confidence to give clear directions
  • Ability to build a positive work environment with open communication
  • Ability to maintain camaraderie within the team
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and technical documents
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Must obtain and maintain a Gaming License
  • Must pass drug screening
  • Experience in coaching for success preferred
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Bi-lingual language skills preferred
  • Previous gaming environment experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Support and uphold the Valley View Casino’s Standards of Excellence
  • Maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest complaints
  • Monitor staff for outstanding customer interaction and personalized service
  • Ensure kitchen operations comply with strategic plans and vision
  • Maximize cost effectiveness by managing budget, labor, and revenue benchmarks
  • Prepare and season food according to established recipes
  • Supervise kitchen staff and provide feedback on job performance
  • Address staff productivity issues and document findings
  • Ensure availability of supplies and equipment
  • Conduct daily huddles and schedule meetings with staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in compliance with health regulations
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations
  • Resolve guest problems and special service requests
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation
  • Comply with all relevant health, liquor, and safety regulations
  • Maintain professional and ethical conduct
  • Ensure attendance and punctuality
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisal
  • Handle complaints and resolve problems in a non-biased manner
