Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of restaurant or beverage management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of leadership experience including mentoring, training and coaching of peers
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and oral
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for long periods
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize throughout the day
  • Must demonstrate confidentiality and privacy
  • Must use excellent judgment in guest interactions
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from Tribal Gaming Agency
  • Must pass required auditions, skills testing and drug screening
  • Able to work in 24-hour casino environment with exposure to second hand tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes
  • Must be flexible to work any and all shifts as casino operates 24/7

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • One year of progressive leadership experience including mentoring, training, and coaching peers
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and oral
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to stand for long periods on hard surfaces
  • Ability to maintain team camaraderie
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize to optimize presence
  • Demonstrated confidentiality and safeguarding of team information
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Leadership skills to create positive work environment with open communication
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules and policies
  • Ability to apply common sense to instructions and guidelines

Job Duties

  • Support and uphold the Valley View Casino & Hotel's Standards of Excellence, Mission and Vision statements
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and engage staff for outstanding guest interactions
  • Ensure front-of-house Food & Beverage operations align with strategic plans and department vision
  • Promote outstanding guest relations and guest service
  • Ensure cleanliness of assigned Food & Beverage areas meets or exceeds health code regulations
  • Resolve guest complaints, issues or special requests timely
  • Maximize cost effectiveness within assigned area, ensure compliance with budget, labor and revenue benchmarks
  • Ensure beverage standards are maintained to protect alcohol license
  • Adhere to laws and regulations including Dram Shop Act, Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, gaming laws, and internal policies
  • Ensure accurate daily tip reporting and tracking
  • Serve as mentor for team members
  • Collaborate with management in providing input and recommendations
  • Conduct daily team huddles
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain knowledge of company facilities and special events
  • Attend special events and training as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain professional and ethical conduct
  • Keep consistent, regular attendance
  • Adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures
  • Supervise team members, carrying out responsibilities including hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving problems per policies and laws
