Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years experience in venue or arena management
  • proven experience driving revenue growth and managing financials
  • knowledge of ice and non-ice event operations
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • financial and analytical skills
  • excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • proficiency in event management technology
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in venue management, arena operations, or large-scale event coordination
  • proven track record in driving revenue growth and managing profit and loss responsibilities
  • strong knowledge of ice-related and non-ice event operations
  • success in business development, client relationship management, and contract negotiation
  • excellent leadership skills managing cross-functional teams and seasonal staff
  • financial acumen with data analysis and revenue forecasting abilities
  • exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • proficiency with event management systems, CRM tools, budgeting software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • proactively identify and pursue new revenue opportunities for ice and non-ice programming
  • build strategic partnerships with sports leagues, promoters, and corporate clients
  • conduct market research and competitor analysis
  • develop and execute business plans focused on driving net operating income growth
  • monitor profit and loss performance and prepare financial reports
  • optimize staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • oversee end-to-end coordination of arena events
  • collaborate with marketing, facilities, and guest services teams
  • ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies
  • serve as lead liaison for high-value clients and develop customized proposals
  • create and implement sales strategies to grow rental occupancy and expand market segments
  • attend industry networking and trade shows
  • develop balanced calendar of ice-related and non-ice programs
  • partner with marketing teams to promote programs
  • assess and recommend improvements to arena infrastructure and guest experience
  • lead, mentor, and develop arena staff
  • establish standard operating procedures
  • manage vendor contracts and equipment procurement
