Job Requirements
- H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6 months hospital or hotel housekeeping experience preferred for housekeeper
- 6 months related experience required for lead floor tech
- 1-2 years floor care experience and 1 year lead experience preferred for lead floor tech
- good verbal and written communication skills
- capable of working independently, setting priorities and being flexible
- able to work around housekeeping chemicals
- knowledge of infection control and safety guidelines
- able to respond to emergency situations appropriately
- adherence to patient safety goals
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- six months of hospital or hotel housekeeping experience preferred for housekeeper role
- one to two years floor care experience and one year lead experience preferred for lead floor tech role
- good verbal and written communication skills
- capable of working independently, setting priorities, and being flexible in assignments and responsibilities
- knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
Job Duties
- Clean assigned area(s) according to procedure to meet established infection control, sanitation and safety guidelines
- replenish supplies on housekeeping carts or in assigned areas to prepare work area for next service period
- responsible for keeping all equipment clean and reporting all broken equipment to the supervisor
- empty, clean and reline trash containers
- properly dispose of all waste including biohazardous materials
- high dust surfaces above shoulder height
- sanitize and spot clean
- clean restrooms, restocking dispensers
- dust hard surface floors/vacuum carpets
- sanitize floors/carpets
- assist supervisor with training new hires and in-service training with staff
- perform patient interviews on incoming and discharging patients to inform them of the expectations from the EVS department
- follows-up on complaints and concerns made by patients, family members and staff
- perform duties of supervisor in their absence
- adhere to the Patient Safety Goals
- respond to emergency situations appropriately
- demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness codes
- recognize safety hazards and act to protect patients, self and others
