Job Requirements

  • valid driver's license
  • ability to travel within assigned territory regularly
  • physical ability to stock and handle lumber and related products
  • good communication skills
  • must be reliable and self-motivated
  • ability to manage expenses according to corporate policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in retail stocking or customer service preferred
  • ability to build strong relationships with store personnel
  • good organizational and inventory management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of lumber, moulding, or millwork products is a plus
  • ability to travel regularly within assigned territory
  • basic computer proficiency

Job Duties

  • Travel to assigned stores within territory on a regular, pre-determined call schedule
  • manage strong relationships with store personnel such as store management, red vest, MST
  • maintain accurate inventory by making focus and cycle count adjustments and/or notifying customers of necessary changes
  • maintain appearance of company products by cleaning, culling, placing suggested orders, preparing returns and credits, and ensuring point-of-purchase materials are up to date and in place
  • provide training to store personnel on company products and services
  • analyze performance, product mix, market conditions, and new product opportunities and recommend changes
  • facilitate store reset activity with the NHC Store Planning Team as required
  • participate in special events such as grand openings, contractor nights, product knowledge training, company meetings
  • stock replenishment orders within 48 hours of delivery to store
  • manage all expenses per corporate policies and procedures
  • demonstrate high standards of conduct, professionalism, courtesy, ethics, and a can-do attitude when representing the company
