Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school, completion of a GED, or vocational school
- prior custodial or office maintenance work preferred
- valid driver’s license with good driving record
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, and full physical agility
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to operate small equipment and power tools
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- problem solving and critical thinking abilities
- ability to work independently or in a group
- exposure to various weather conditions and hazardous substances
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED or vocational school
- a combination of education and experience that provides necessary skills is preferred
- prior custodial or office maintenance experience preferred
- ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- ability to operate small equipment and motor vehicles
- knowledge of safe chemical handling and biohazard cleanup procedures
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- problem solving and critical thinking skills
- CPR or emergency resuscitation training preferred
Job Duties
- Provide customer service to airport guests
- direct passengers and visitors to appropriate locations
- greet passengers using the 10' rule
- assist customers with locating lost or misplaced items
- assist nursing mothers and passengers/guests with disabilities
- contact airport dispatch in the event of injury and stay with passenger/guest until relief arrives
- direct the public to safe areas during emergencies
- provide temporary lodging during severe weather or flight cancellations
- perform custodial tasks including mopping, spot cleaning carpets, detail cleaning, dusting, scrubbing, vacuuming, emptying trash, and sanitizing public and non-public areas
- remove biohazardous needle containment units
- monitor and maintain supplies and inventory
- drive to various airport buildings for cleaning and maintenance
- perform hourly restroom inspections and upkeep
- operate cleaning equipment safely and maintain machinery
- report damaged fixtures and maintenance needs
- maintain accurate logs for restrooms, vehicles, and training
- set up for special events and meetings
- assist airport police and EMS with security and cleanup of biohazardous materials
- obtain basic emergency resuscitation training such as CPR
- inform the public on evacuation and safety procedures
- adhere to safety guidelines including use of wet floor signs and safety cones
- escort contractors for repairs or installations
- complete OSHA regulation training
- clean and restock International FIS area twice daily
- work harmoniously with colleagues, supervisors, and other IAA employees
