Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school, completion of a GED, or vocational school
  • prior custodial or office maintenance experience preferred
  • valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, walking, crawling, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, stretching, bending, squatting, stooping
  • full physical dexterity and agility
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • ability to operate small equipment and power tools
  • ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • ability to write, read, understand, talk, see, and hear
  • problem solving skills
  • exercise good judgment
  • maintain composure in stressful situations

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • prior custodial work or office maintenance experience preferred
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • experience operating cleaning equipment
  • knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
  • ability to handle biohazardous material safely
  • problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • ability to work in a team and independently

Job Duties

  • Provide customer service to airport guests
  • direct passengers and visitors to appropriate locations
  • greet passengers using the 10' rule and offer assistance
  • assist customers with locating lost or misplaced items
  • assist nursing mothers and passengers with disabilities
  • contact airport dispatch in case of injury and stay with passenger until relieved
  • direct public to safe areas during emergencies
  • provide temporary lodging during flight cancellations
  • perform custodial duties including mopping, spot cleaning, detail cleaning, dusting, scrubbing, vacuuming, emptying trash, sanitizing public and non-public areas
  • remove biohazardous needle containment units
  • monitor supplies and inventory
  • drive to various airport buildings for cleaning
  • perform hourly restroom inspections
  • use equipment like scissor lifts, floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and carpet cleaners
  • handle equipment and chemicals properly
  • maintain and perform light repair on machinery
  • report damaged fixtures and maintenance requests
  • maintain accurate log sheets
  • set up for special events
  • assist airport police and EMS with security matters
  • obtain emergency resuscitation training such as CPR
  • inform public on evacuation and safety procedures
  • adhere to safety guidelines
  • escort outside contractors
  • complete OSHA training on cleaning processes and biohazard disposal
  • clean and restock International FIS area
  • work harmoniously with colleagues and supervisors
