Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be in good physical health with or without accommodations
- Ability to pass engineer licensing requirements and rules examinations
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work weekends, nights, holidays, and relief assignments
- Ability to work in Michigan City, Hammond, Gary, or Chicago
- Valid motor vehicle license and reliable transportation
- Pass drug test, physical examination, and background check
- If previously employed by a railroad, provide evidence of furlough or eligibility to be rehired

- Experience operating heavy moving machinery preferred
- Good physical strength and endurance

Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect interiors and exteriors of passenger railroad cars
- Inspect, move, couple, and uncouple passenger cars at terminals
- Refill water tanks on cars
- Conduct safety tests and perform inspections
- Make minor repairs and perform preventive maintenance
- Perform duties as assigned by supervisors
