Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
  • Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
  • Ability to engage with guests in an entertaining manner
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Capable of handling kitchen equipment safely
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Benihana chef training program
  • Previous experience as a chef or cook highly desirable
  • Knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to engage and entertain guests
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
  • Perform cooking show for assigned tables interacting courteously with guests
  • Provide guests with information about foods being cooked
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables using kitchen equipment
  • Perform shift opening and closing duties including cleaning
  • Maintain kitchen and hibachi areas clean, sanitary, and organized
  • Follow company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, and presentation
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate foods properly according to safety laws
  • Use knives and utensils to prepare food according to specifications
  • Adhere to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
  • Notify management of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
  • Participate in special occasion celebrations and photography as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
