Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Readily provides guests with information about foods as they are being cooked or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using various kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, and equipment clean, sanitary, and organized
- Prepares foods according to company portion standards and recipe specifications
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods according to health and safety standards
- Uses knives, utensils, and equipment to prepare foods for the dining room
- Adheres to company guidelines on food presentation and alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a neat appearance and courteous manner
- Notifies manager on duty of any guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in guest special occasion celebrations
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor
