Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must comply with health and safety regulations
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be at least 18 years old

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring appropriate and courteous interaction with guests
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows guest instructions
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, food processors, blenders, and fryers
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts, and floors
- Maintains kitchen and teppan cooking areas, equipment, and food storage cleanliness, sanitation, and organization
- Reports kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to the chief chef or manager on duty
- Complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes, and service cycle
- Prepares foods according to portion standards and recipe specifications, including battering, breading, seasoning, and marinating
- Adheres to food presentation and garnish guidelines
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods according to health safety, state and local laws
- Uses knives, hand tools, utensils, and equipment to prepare food
- Adheres to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses courteous manner with guests
- Notifies the manager on duty of unsatisfied guests or accidents
- Ensures guest special occasion celebrations are memorable and participates as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor
