Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Perform a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provide guests with information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiry
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Ask guests for cooking preferences and follow instructions
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Perform shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units and floors
- Maintain kitchen, teppan cooking areas, equipment, and food storage areas clean, sanitary and organized
- Report any equipment or maintenance issues to the chief chef or manager on duty
- Comply with company standards on food portioning, methods, quality standards, recipes and service cycle
- Prepare foods according to company portion standards, including battering, breading, seasoning and marinating
- Adhere to company guidelines on food presentation and garnishes
- Properly handle, store, label, and rotate foods in compliance with health safety and local laws
- Use knives, tools and equipment to portion, cut, slice, and produce food for the dining room
- Follow company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Present a clean and neat appearance and use a courteous manner with guests
- Notify manager on duty immediately if guests are not satisfied or if an accident occurs
- Participate in making guest special occasion celebrations memorable
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
