- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows instructions
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables using various kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties including cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cooking areas
- Complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, and recipes
- Prepares foods according to portion standards including battering, breading, seasoning, and marinating
- Adheres to guidelines on food presentation and garnish
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods following public health safety laws and FIFO method
- Uses kitchen tools to prepare food for the dining room
- Adheres to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean appearance and courteous manner with guests
- Notifies management of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in guest special occasion celebrations
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
