Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Must be able to perform cooking and entertaining tasks in front of guests
- Ability to maintain clean and sanitary work environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to follow company policies and procedures

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Perform a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provide guests with information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon guest inquiries
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Ask guests for cooking preferences and follow guest instructions
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using kitchen equipment
- Perform shift opening and closing duties as assigned by the manager
- Maintain kitchen, teppan cooking areas, kitchen equipment and ensure food storage areas are clean, sanitary and organized
- Report any kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to the chief chef or manager on duty
- Comply with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes, service cycle, policies and procedures
- Prepare foods according to company portions standards and recipe specifications
- Adhere to company guidelines on food presentation and garnishes
- Handle, store, label and rotate foods properly following safety and health regulations
- Use kitchen tools and equipment to portion, cut, slice, julienne, whip, beat, maintain holding temperature, chill or freeze foods for the dining room
- Follow company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Present a clean and neat appearance and courteous manner with all guests
- Notify manager on duty when guests are not satisfied or if an accident occurs
- Participate in special guest occasion celebrations
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
