Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as a chef or cook preferred
- Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Must comply with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to perform physical tasks required in kitchen environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Readily provides guests with information about Benihana foods
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows their instructions
- Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using various kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, and equipment clean, sanitary, and organized
- Reports kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to management
- Adheres to company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, recipes, and presentation
- Handles and rotates food properly following public health safety standards and FIFO method
- Uses knives and utensils for food preparation
- Adheres to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses courteous manners with guests
- Notifies management immediately if guests are unsatisfied or if accidents occur
- Participates in ensuring guest special occasion celebrations are memorable
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
