  • Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
  • Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
  • Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
  • Readily provides guests with information about Benihana foods
  • Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
  • Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using kitchen equipment
  • Performs shift opening and closing duties including cleaning and maintenance
  • Maintains kitchen, cooking areas and equipment ensuring cleanliness and safety
  • Complies with food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes and policies
  • Prepares foods according to portion standards and recipe specifications
  • Adheres to proper food presentation and garnishes
  • Handles food storage and rotation following safety and legal guidelines
  • Uses tools and equipment to prepare food items
  • Adheres to alcoholic beverage service guidelines
  • Presents a clean neat appearance and courteous manner
  • Notifies manager on duty of guest issues or accidents
  • Participates in special occasion celebrations and may photograph guests
  • Performs other duties as assigned
