- Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Ability to engage with guests and perform cooking shows
- Must adhere to company food safety and portioning guidelines
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring appropriate and courteous interaction with guests
- Readily provides guests with information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon guest inquiries
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows instructions
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, and equipment clean and organized
- Ensures compliance with portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes and service cycle
- Prepares foods according to portion standards prior to cooking including battering, breading, seasoning and marinating
- Adheres to food presentation and garnishing guidelines
- Handles and rotates food properly according to safety standards and FIFO method
- Uses tools and equipment to portion, cut, and prepare food
- Adheres to alcoholic beverage service guidelines
- Presents a clean and neat appearance
- Notifies manager on duty of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in special occasion celebrations for guests
- Performs other duties as assigned
