  • Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
  • Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
  • Provides guests with information about Benihana foods as they are prepared or upon inquiry
  • Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows guest instructions
  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using kitchen equipment
  • Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning and maintaining kitchen and cooking areas
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, teppan areas, equipment and food storage
  • Complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, recipes and service policies
  • Prepares food in accordance with company portion standards including battering, breading, seasoning and marinating
  • Ensures proper food presentation and garnishes according to company guidelines
  • Handles and stores foods properly following health safety and food rotation laws
  • Uses knives and kitchen tools to prepare food for dining room service
  • Adheres to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
  • Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses courteous manners with all guests
  • Notifies management immediately of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
  • Participates in ensuring guest special occasion celebrations are memorable
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
