Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Strong communication and guest interaction skills
- Ability to perform cooking demonstrations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain cleanliness and organization

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about foods as they are being cooked or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, chef carts and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, and equipment ensuring cleanliness and sanitation
- Reports kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to manager
- Complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, recipes, service cycle, and policies
- Prepares foods according to portion standards and recipes including seasoning and marinating
- Adheres to guidelines on food presentation and garnishes
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods per public health safety laws
- Uses knives, hand tools, and equipment to prepare and portion foods
- Adheres to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance using courteous manner with guests
- Notifies manager of any guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in guest special occasion celebrations and may assist with photography
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
