Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows instructions
- Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other foods using various kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, equipment, and food storage clean and organized
- Reports maintenance issues to chief chef or manager on duty
- Complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, and quality
- Prepares food according to company portion standards and recipe specifications
- Adheres to food presentation and garnishing guidelines
- Properly handles and stores foods according to public health and safety laws
- Uses knives, hand tools, and equipment for food preparation
- Adheres to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance and courteous manner with all guests
- Notifies manager on duty when guests are not satisfied or accidents occur
- Participates in ensuring guest special occasion celebrations are memorable
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
