Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
  • Perform a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
  • Provide guests with information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon guest inquiries
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Ask guests for cooking preferences and follow guest instructions
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Perform shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts and floors
  • Maintain kitchen, teppan cooking areas, kitchen equipment and ensure food storage areas are clean, sanitary and organized
  • Prepare foods according to company portion standards and recipe specifications
  • Handle, store, label and rotate foods properly in accordance with public health safety and laws
  • Use knives, hand tools, utensils and equipment to prepare food
  • Adhere to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
  • Present a clean appearance and courteous manner with all guests
  • Notify manager on duty when guests are unsatisfied or if accidents occur
  • Participate in guest special occasion celebrations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
