- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Perform cooking shows for assigned tables ensuring appropriate and courteous interaction
- Provide guests with information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiry
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Ask guests for cooking preference and follow instructions
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Perform shift opening and closing duties including cleaning refrigeration units and floors
- Maintain kitchen, teppan cooking areas, equipment, and food storage areas clean and sanitary
- Report kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to chief chef or manager on duty
- Adhere to company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality, recipes, and service cycle
- Prepare foods according to portion standards and recipe specifications
- Present food with proper garnishes and food presentation standards
- Handle, store, label and rotate foods according to safety standards
- Use knives, utensils, and equipment to produce food for the dining room
- Follow company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Maintain a clean appearance and courteous manner with guests
- Notify manager on duty about guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participate in making guest special occasions memorable
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
