Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook preferred
- Ability to perform cooking demonstrations and interact with guests
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety procedures
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas
- Good physical stamina for standing and cooking for long periods

- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

- Ability to perform entertaining cooking shows and guest interactions

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about foods being cooked or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
- Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables using various kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties including cleaning of refrigeration units and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, equipment, and food storage clean and organized
- Complies with company’s standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards
- Prepares foods according to portion standards and recipe specifications
- Adheres to proper food presentation and garnishes guidelines
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods according to health safety laws
- Uses knives and utensils to portion, cut, slice, and prepare food
- Follows company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents neat appearance and courteous manner
- Notifies manager on duty of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in guest special occasion celebrations
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor
