Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- ability to perform cooking shows and engage guests
- availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- ability to stand for extended periods
- comply with company grooming and appearance standards

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- provides guests information about Benihana foods and responds promptly to guest requests
- asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
- prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using various kitchen equipment
- performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, chef carts and floors
- maintains kitchen and teppan area cleanliness and reports equipment issues to management
- complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, and recipes
- prepares foods according to portion standards and recipe specifications including battering, breading, seasoning or marinating
- adheres to company guidelines on food presentation and garnish
- handles and stores foods properly in accordance with health and safety laws
- uses knives, utensils and equipment to portion and prepare food
- follows guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- maintains a clean, neat appearance and courteous manner
- notifies management when guests are dissatisfied or if accidents occur
- participates in special occasion celebrations and may photograph guests
- performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
