Job Requirements

  • Possession of commercial pilot’s certificate with required ratings and endorsements
  • Hold a minimum of 2nd class FAA Medical Certificate
  • Have a minimum of 1200 hours fixed-wing total flight time including 1000 hours as PIC
  • Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds
  • Provide flight hours, experience details, and medical certificate class in application
  • Attend approved King Air simulator school within the last 12 months for PIC consideration
  • Approval by Chief Pilot and aviation insurance underwriter for PIC duties

Job Qualifications

  • Commercial pilot’s certificate with instrument rating
  • Single-engine land rating
  • Multiengine land rating
  • High-altitude endorsement
  • Minimum of 2nd class FAA Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 1200 hours fixed-wing total flight time
  • 1000 hours as pilot-in-command
  • 500 hours PIC cross-country time
  • 250 hours PIC fixed-wing turbine time
  • 100 hours PIC multiengine airplane time in non-centerline-thrust aircraft
  • 75 actual or simulated instrument PIC flight hours with 50 in actual flight
  • Experience with FAR Part 91/121/135 crew resource management preferred
  • King Air flight time and maintenance training preferred

Job Duties

  • Act as pilot-in-command or second-in-command for state aircraft
  • Provide aerial transportation for state employees
  • Conduct aerial photography and mapping missions
  • Comply with all FAA regulations and state aviation policies
  • Maintain accurate flight logs and records
  • Perform pre-flight inspections and ensure aircraft safety
  • Collaborate with the Chief Pilot and follow aviation insurance requirements
