- Ability to calmly organize and direct during emergencies
- Experience in museums or cultural organizations preferred
- Educational background or interest in science and natural history preferred
- Current certification in AED, CPR, and First Aid preferred
Job Duties
- Assist in the safety and security of the museum by monitoring visitors, exhibitions, the building, and grounds
- Provide clear guidance, direction, and information to visitors to ensure a positive experience
- Document and report physical interactions with exhibits and address inappropriate behavior
- Report any missing or damaged objects and irregularities relating to safety or fire hazards
- Follow museum policies and security procedures during operations and special events
- Operate freight elevator and manual warehouse equipment, set up furniture and equipment for events
- Serve as initial responder in emergencies, know evacuation procedures and assist in safe evacuation
