Job Requirements

  • GED or high school diploma
  • At least one year experience working in a food service setting
  • Ability to follow directions and work with others
  • Current food handler's card or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Reliable means of transportation
  • Ability to keep accurate records and communicate effectively in oral and written manner

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of appropriate foods according to pre-planned menu cycle
  • Assist in serving meals and dishing of meals on wheels containers
  • Ensure dining area supplies are stocked and beverage stations maintained according to dietary standards
  • Meet production time frames
  • Gather food items according to production sheets and assist in preparing salads, desserts, and sandwich items
  • Store foods safely and sanitary with proper labels and dates
  • Use appropriate chemicals for cleaning and sanitation
  • Wash pots and pans using three-pot sink method and operate commercial dishwasher safely
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment daily and keep area neat and clean
  • Sweep and mop floors as directed
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
  • Report equipment failures, breakages, or kitchen related issues to Food Service Manager
  • Notify supervisor on duty about stock levels and food spoilage
  • Participate in department meetings, trainings, and other assigned functions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Food Service Manager or Lead Cook
