Job Requirements
- Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- Must maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- Must be less than 70 years old
- Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily
- Must have strong commitment to safety
- Ability to complete required documentation
- Ability to conduct flight planning
- Ability to participate in company activities and community outreach
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years' related experience or training
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Commercial pilot certificate
- Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category
- First or Second-Class FAA medical certificate
- Minimum 2500 total flight hours with at least 2000 in category
- Minimum 1000 hours PIC in category
- Minimum 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- Minimum 500 hours cross-country flight time with at least 100 hours at night
- Minimum 100 hours unaided night PIC or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours NVG time
- Minimum 75 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and category
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods' aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Complete pre-flight inspections and sign off Daily Flight Log before every flight
- Perform walk-around inspections prior to entering the cockpit and after each flight
- Serve as final authority regarding aircraft operation and safety for passengers, cargo, and equipment
- Be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems in operational area
- Ensure medical flight team is comfortable with medical interior and systems
- Complete required documentation accurately
- Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
- Participate regularly in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
- Prioritize safety through meticulous pre-flight checks
