Job Requirements

  • Minimum six months experience in commercial or institutional food service
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a food handler's permit
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds
  • Able to bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead, stretch
  • Able to be on feet for extended periods of time
  • Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check
  • Contingent on passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Available to work during inclement weather and emergencies
  • Available to work shift work and weekends
  • Ability to obtain T1, child care check security clearance
  • Commitment to tobacco- and vape-free facility
  • Non-exempt FLSA status

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum six months experience in commercial or institutional food service
  • Ability to carry out routine tasks to completion
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a food handler's permit

Job Duties

  • Prepare foods, salads, and desserts as directed by the master menu
  • Clean and prepare foods using tools such as knives, slicers, and peelers and commercial equipment such as ovens and steamers
  • Follow written orders including recipes and dietary instructions
  • Operate dishwasher and buffers
  • Remove refuse from kitchen area
  • sweep, mop, and scrub kitchen, dining and storage areas
  • Label, load, and deliver food products
  • defrost and clean refrigeration units and other equipment as directed
  • Prepare and serve meals to cadets and cadre
  • perform highly skilled work operating an institutional food service unit for up to 225 people per meal
  • Make recommendations for future food needs
  • receive and store food and assist with serving food
  • interpret recipes and follow modified diet plans
  • Maintain necessary records and prepare required reports
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required
