Job Requirements
- At least two years of formal food service training or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, write, and count
- Ability to follow instructions
- Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, walk, and lift items weighing 15-50 pounds
- Ability to work with dust, fumes, solvents, and high heat
- Willingness to adhere to safety and health regulations and sanitary standards
Job Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques and procedures equivalent to two plus years of formal food service training or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, write, count, and follow instructions
- Exercise some judgment to follow recipes and general instructions
Job Duties
- Use judgment to determine quantity of food prepared and time schedule so that all items are ready for serving on schedule
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation and customer service
- Prepare food for various catered functions such as dinner, luncheons, banquets, and receptions
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of ordinary and fancy foods including all kinds of meat, fowl, seafood, soups, gravies, salads, fruits, vegetables, desserts, etc. for small functions and assist head cook for large functions
- Prepare and cook meat, vegetables, gravy, meatballs
- Slice and trim meat, bone turkey, slice cheese and cold cuts
