Job Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience as Executive Chef
  • Passionate about industry trends and techniques
  • Knowledge of product quality, presentation, menu concept, and cooking standards
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with PR and marketing
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, mornings, holidays
  • Food Handler Certification
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification if applicable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, POS systems, inventory and procurement software, payroll and timekeeping software, business and accounting software

Job Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Executive Chef or senior kitchen leader, preferably in large, fast-paced, multi-outlet kitchens
  • Strong knowledge of food product quality, presentation, menu design, costing, and people management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with marketing and public relations teams
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays
  • Food Handler Certification
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification where applicable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, restaurant POS systems, inventory management, procurement, payroll, and business/accounting software

Job Duties

  • Create innovative and delicious seasonal menus using knowledge of food industry trends and seasonal ingredients
  • Lead daily kitchen operations with efficiency, integrity, patience, awareness, and compassion
  • Supervise and develop the kitchen team through training, coaching, and problem resolution
  • Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation according to recipes and standards
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and receiving operations daily
  • Oversee sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchen and food prep areas
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in excellent condition by adhering to preventative maintenance
  • Meet financial and food quality targets while improving guest satisfaction
  • Prepare accurate paperwork including schedules, reports, and forms in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Schedule labor to maintain staffing needs while controlling labor costs
  • Lead ongoing service education and training programs
  • Interview, hire, and appraise kitchen staff performance
  • Administer corrective actions in coordination with HR policies
  • Collaborate with PR and Marketing on campaign creation and budgeting
