Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in theatrical or live event technical operations
  • familiarity with lighting consoles and sound reinforcement equipment
  • customer service experience dealing with public audiences
  • ability to enforce safety regulations and communicate them effectively
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • problem-solving skills
  • enthusiasm for theatre and live events

Job Duties

  • Assist Operations and Event Coordinator, Technical and Assistant Technical Directors in supporting campus events and university theatre performances
  • perform backstage duties including lighting operation with lighting consoles and follow spotlights
  • operate front-of-house sound reinforcement systems including FOH console operation and audio setup
  • assist with load-in and load-out activities
  • conduct occasional system and facilities maintenance
  • serve as house manager coordinating all front-of-house operations including training and supervising ushers
  • communicate with stage managers and technical supervisors during performances
  • ensure safety and satisfaction of all patrons attending theatre events
  • troubleshoot operational problems
  • work independently with limited supervision
