Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail

Job Duties
- General cleaning of all areas including but not limited to interior glass, entryways, and exits, vents and light fixtures exterior stairs, entries, and exits
- Remove snow and dispense ice melt compound around building entries and exits
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, urinals, partitions, sinks, mirrors, counters, and vents
- Perform floor maintenance, including scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, stripping, and refinishing hard floors
- Clean spots and stains from carpet and upholstery
- Collect and remove trash and recyclable waste
- Deposit segregated waste streams in dumpsters and compactors
- Clean and maintain interior and exterior waste collection areas
- Lock and unlock designated doors
- clean kitchen appliances (where appropriate)
- move furniture to facilitate cleaning
- set up for events
- Participate in emergency and special request cleaning tasks
- perform occasional ladder climbing to clean higher areas
- occasionally make up beds
- Perform basic operator care on assigned equipment
- identify and communicate required corrective maintenance
- Professionally communicate with staff (verbally and in writing using radios and computers)
- address upset situations and unplanned requests from building managers and hall staff
- Participate in scheduled training and meetings
- stock supplies
- alert security of suspicious behavior
