Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in institutional cooking or related field
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work variable shifts including weekends
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED or a minimum of 3 years full-time experience in a related field
  • One year significant experience in institution cooking or equivalent
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic problems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with dietary personnel, hospital employees, and maintenance

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food for patients, cafeteria, and catering using standardized recipes
  • Plan and coordinate cooking schedules to meet serving times while maintaining quality, temperature, and food safety standards
  • Support food service operations by assisting with serving, catering setup, menu planning, recipe modifications, and food storage
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas and equipment
  • Respond to food complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Uphold organizational values and service excellence standards
  • Ensure respectful, courteous, and confidential communication with customers, peers, and management
