Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year experience in institutional cooking or related field
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work variable shifts including weekends
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED or a minimum of 3 years full-time experience in a related field
- One year significant experience in institution cooking or equivalent
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic problems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with dietary personnel, hospital employees, and maintenance
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food for patients, cafeteria, and catering using standardized recipes
- Plan and coordinate cooking schedules to meet serving times while maintaining quality, temperature, and food safety standards
- Support food service operations by assisting with serving, catering setup, menu planning, recipe modifications, and food storage
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas and equipment
- Respond to food complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
- Uphold organizational values and service excellence standards
- Ensure respectful, courteous, and confidential communication with customers, peers, and management
