Job Requirements
- Ability to pass a human performance evaluation
- Ability to read, speak and write English fluently
- Ability to read packaging labels and instructions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Adherence to ServSafe dress code and hygiene rules
- Vaccination against Influenza is mandatory
- COVID vaccination highly encouraged or mask requirement between November and April
Job Qualifications
- Two years of cooking experience
- Current ServSafe Food Handler's Certificate
- Current ServSafe Food Manager's Certificate or obtain within 60 days
- Culinary math skills
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
- Prior experience in commercial or institutional cooking preferred
- Courses in food service operation, sanitation, and food preparation preferred
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese)
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Job Duties
- Cook and assemble meals according to planned menus
- Ensure quality, portion control, and adherence to approved recipes and senior nutrition guidelines
- Follow food safety regulations including HACCP and ServSafe principles
- Assist in monitoring food inventory and minimizing waste
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Receive, label, date, and store food and supply orders
- Perform daily cleaning of pots, pans, and work areas
- Maintain required records and logs accurately
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet meal production goals
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
