- BLS certification required by completion of core orientation

Job Duties
- Monitor rhythms
- Set alarm parameters as directed by nurse or physician
- Perform arrhythmia analysis
- Document cardiac rhythm strips and rhythm changes
- Communicate with nursing units regarding changes in patient telemetry status
- Initiate, discontinue, and troubleshoot telemetry on patients
- Perform 12-lead EKGs and file print-outs every shift
- Monitor battery life on equipment and change as needed
- Apply continuous pulse oximetry monitors and document related events
- Communicate pulse ox status to Respiratory Therapist
- Act as concierge to visitors providing direction and assistance
- Assist with collection of patient data to ensure quality and safety
- Attend required in-service programs, meetings and seminars
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws, codes of ethics and policies
- Maintain unsupervised access to medication rooms for stocking and retrieving supplies
- Maintain a safe workplace free of hazards
- Use correct body mechanics and personal protective equipment
- Perform related duties as assigned
