Job Requirements
- AA/AS degree or equivalent in related field
- 1-3 years experience in childcare curriculum and programming
- supervisory experience preferred
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification within first 90 days
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Patience and understanding
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Alertness and acceptable hearing and visual capabilities
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to drive 14-passenger vehicle
- Capable of working outdoors and under pressure
- Successful criminal background check
- Successful drug screen
Job Qualifications
- AA/AS degree or equivalent in related field
- BS degree preferred
- 1-3 years experience in formal childcare curriculum and programming
- Experience working with Middle to High School age teens
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification within first 90 days
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to engage and inspire teenagers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of youth development principles
Job Duties
- Develop and implement a Youth in Government program
- Coordinate participation in mock government events and legislative sessions
- Foster critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork among teens
- Plan and execute engaging afterschool programs
- Collaborate to design and coordinate summer camp activities
- Ensure programs align with educational standards and promote personal and social development
- Identify and implement teen-focused initiatives
- Establish partnerships with local organizations
- Empower teens to take leadership roles
- Maintain accurate program records and participant information
- Evaluate program effectiveness using surveys and feedback
- Prepare reports for management and stakeholders
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising staff
- Create and manage staff schedules
- Foster teamwork and professionalism among program staff
- Engage with parents, schools, and community partners
- Represent YMCA at community events
- Provide staff support for special events and fundraising campaigns
- Assist in program budget development and management
- Meet or exceed budget and annual campaign goals
