Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years experience in heavy diesel vehicle maintenance preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license
- Ability to secure proper airport authority security badges
- Knowledge of theories of systems operation
- Valid ASE certification or other diesel certification preferred

Job Duties
- Inspect service troubleshoot repair replace and overhaul ground support equipment and components such as chassis body and drive-train components
- Learn electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes replacing or adding coolant and fluids brake and tire changes on ground equipment
- Perform minor repair of ground support equipment such as carburetors starter motors alternators batteries radiators hydraulic drive components and diesel engines under supervision
- Assist with transporting parts distributing parts to technicians inputting parts into system and properly storing parts and assisting with parts inventory counts
- Assist with offloading equipment and freight
- Escort contractors and vehicles in or out of SCLA airport as needed
- Perform yard starts and equipment availability reporting
- Assist with shop maintenance including light building maintenance and maintaining shop tools washing equipment
- Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective safe working condition and report any safety violations or improper work to supervisor or lead
- Comply with federal local and state regulations Mercury GSE policies and health safety and environmental procedures
- Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
